NEUROGRAPHIC ART WORKSHOPS
There is increasing recognition that certain sounds and rhythms can have positive effects on our brains. What is less well known is that drawing lines in a certain way and with a defined purpose can actually engage more of our brains. We take a soothing journey into freeform line drawing, while discussing its therapeutic effects in this workshop that will prepare you for the next two neurographic art adventures. At the end we will have transformed some of our fear, stress, attachment issues, depression and trauma into astonishing works of art as a way of acknowledging, reflecting on and validating these issues. This workshop enables you to choose with confidence from the next two activities.
You will use the line-drawing skills you learned in the Introduction to Neurographic Art to identify and visualize first your goals and next your entire life as you create a stunning tree. Through repetition and guidance, your ego and subconscious will manifest through your fingers and onto the paper. The results will empower you and encourage you to think.
With the Tree of LIfe, your subconscious is your guide. With this workshop, it will be your conscious mind, which you will use to carefully plan and create a landscape, using the skills you have acquired. With plenty of support, you will become adept at considering and solving artistic problems on a small scale, with a view to transferring these thought processes to your everyday life.
To me, it is the most healing way to deal with the incredible loss I have experienced. And every time I look at it, I can witness little changes in myself, in my understanding, in the meaning I give to my losses and pains.
Whatever loss you suffered, wherever you are on your grief journey. You are welcome with your story and all that comes with it!
We will play with watercolours and layer the art piece with elements of Neurographica. The goal of this workshop is to bring the unconscious into consciousness through painting and drawing. Also, this time we will actually do some writing as well, to deepen into the symbols and stories that the artwork brought up.
